THE ORIGINAL DIRECTOR'S CUT
CHRISTMAS EVIL
UNWRAPPING THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
Los Angeles, CA. (2006) -- In 1980 a little independent feature by director Lewis Jackson carved a new niche in the horror genre. Entitled You Better Watch Out, it presented a psychopathic toymaker with a Santa Claus fetish and a literal list of naughty boys and girls in need of his special attention. Called "the greatest Christmas movie ever made" and "a true cinematic masterpiece" by John Waters, that classic black comedy is now being resurrected in a Special Edition Director's Cut, with a whole new name and a lot more attitude than ever before! Released through Synapse Films on November 14, 2006, this stylish yuletide chestnut gives new meaning to the phrase, holiday disturbance.
A psychological thriller in the vein of Psycho and Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer, Christmas Evil has become a cult classic since its initial release in 1980 and has been highly anticipated by fans everywhere. To fill that need, the Special Edition Director's Cut of Christmas Evil includes many special features, including a brand new widescreen transfer from the original vault materials, audio commentary by directors Lewis Jackson and John Waters, original storyboard sequences, comment cards and rare audition tapes. A perfect stocking stuffer for any twisted Christmas connoisseur, Christmas Evil has been called "gripping" and "well-made" by Leonard Maltin, and "an unusual artistic triumph" by Popmatters, while Film Threat endorses it as "a film that gets better with each viewing."
